Conrail GP38 7897 leads train SPL-701 past the signal bridge governing the tracks in Pattenburg Tunnel. The Lehigh Line running from Oak Island all the way up to Pittston, PA was well known for great clearances which allowed Conrail to run wide loads such as this one on a regular basis. The GP38 and short train are on the controlled siding which runs over three miles from CP Pattenburg to CP West Portal.
