This view is looking eastbound (Compass north) from the signal bridge. The CNJ had signals about every half mile in Bayonne. The next set of signals can be seen in the distance. The footbridge leading off to the right went to the Bayonne naval facility, Military Ocean Terminal, which was a major departure point during WWII and the Korean War.
